Cardiac Rehabilitation
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a condition in which the coronary arteries, which supply blood to the heart muscle, become narrowed or blocked due to the buildup of plaque, a combination of fat, cholesterol, and other substances. CAD is a leading cause of death worldwide, but it can often be managed or prevented through lifestyle changes, medications, and, in some cases, surgical procedures like angioplasty or coronary artery bypass grafting.
At Horizon Medical Center, cardiac rehabilitation is a comprehensive program designed to help you recover and improve your heart health after experiencing a cardiac event such as a heart attack, heart surgery, or heart failure. Our goal is to strengthen the heart, reduce the risk of future cardiac events, and enhance overall physical and mental well-being. By actively participating in cardiac rehabilitation, you can improve your quality of life, increase your physical fitness, and reduce the likelihood of further heart problems.
Cardiac rehabilitation doesn’t change your past, but it can help you improve your heart’s future and allow you to regain function.
